Larry Blank is a three-time Tony Nominee for his orchestrations for the Broadway musicals Catch Me If You Can, White Christmas and The Drowsy Chaperone. He received 6 Drama Desk Award nominations for A Christmas Story, Honeymoon In Vegas, Catch Me If You Can, The Drowsy Chaperone, White Christmas and the hit Yiddish-language production of Fiddler On The Roof. He orchestrated the revival of Guys and Dolls in London and was co-orchestrator for the stage and film versions of The Producers. He also provided orchestrations for the film version of Chicago.
Most recently Larry orchestrated and conducted FX’s Fosse/Verdon and composed, arranged & orchestrated Dolly Parton’s latest project, Christmas On The Square, for Warner Brothers.
Larry is a frequent guest conductor and orchestrator for the BBC’s Great American Songbook program. For each broadcast with which he was involved, he created an Overture celebrating a particular songwriter’s catalog, or honoring the theme of the program.
